How I did my make-up in High School Challenge

I am a fan and subscriber of Kathleen Fuentes (KathleenLights) and she recently put out a video about the make-up she wore in High School. This is not an original concept created by Kathleen although her video was the first I had seen and I thought it was genius. (This video was the original: ).

I decided to do this challenge for myself as I thought it was so interesting to see how different everyone’s High School Make-up routines are.

First of all, in High School I did NOT know what primer was so I obviously did not use it. I am not sure but I don’t even think primer existed in Boots when I was in School.

For Foundation there was a clear winner for what I used constantly and that was the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse ( ) in a shade 4x too dark for my skin tone. Sometimes I would be adventurous and buy the Dream Satin Liquid ( ) instead but I always went back to the Matte Mousse.

In High School, I didn’t know much about concealer either so that was a step I also missed out.

I would very occasionally use a powder foundation on top of my already very matte face and for that I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder ( ) which is still a cult favourite, especially on You Tube.

During High School, I did not understand that I could wear blusher, bronzer and highlighter all at the same time if I wanted to so these three products I would wear on rotation. I regularly used the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer ( ), Bourjois White Chocolate Highlighter (Discontinued) and the Benefit Thrrrob blusher (Discontinued.)

I used to change my mascara every time I ran out, although generally I stuck with Maybelline as they are a great overall brand when it comes to mascara. My favourite one of all time was the Maybelline Colossal Volume Cat Eyes (Discontinued.) I have naturally long and curly eyelashes anyway so I could not say whether or not it had particularly good curling or lengthening properties but it was an amazing mascara.

I did not do anything else with my eyes as I didn’t know much about eye shadow or eye liner at this point.

The final make up item I used religiously during school was the Rimmel Shock Gloss in Clear (Discontinued.) I loved this gloss particularly because I enjoyed the applicator, it was a really interesting plastic spatula. It was something I hadn’t seen in any other lip gloss and it definitely drew me in.

For the longest time I did not like using lipstick as I associated them with old people because my Grandma had so many of her own!

So this is a full list of all of the make up items that I loved to wear during my High School years. We were not allowed to wear make up at my school in particular so I was always sent to the Head Teacher’s office to remove it which was no fun.

I am not going to tag anyone in particular to do this challenge but obviously it is open to everyone!
